Current Responsibilities:

As a Senior Geologist with Mountain Environmental Services, Inc. Mr. Mahan's current responsibilities include project management, report preparation and review, scheduling and coordination of field activities, UST and groundwater regulatory compliance, client/regulatory liaison.

Professional Qualifications:

Mr. Mahan has over 10 years of environmental geology, remediation, and construction-related experience, and has managed assessment and remediation projects ranging from hazardous waste impacted industrial facilities to retail, pipeline and distribution petroleum sites.

Hydro geological assessment projects under his direction have included subsurface characterization in various areas of the southeastern United States , such as the Mississippi Basin , Valley and Ridge of TN and GA, Piedmont of GA and NC, and Coastal Plain of GA. In addition to managing traditional cleanups such as soil excavation and dual-phase extraction, he has experience with negotiating acceptance of innovative remedial and risk-based approaches to contaminated sites with the regulatory agencies in GA and TN. Specific examples of his experience are described below.
